Our Story
“Imagine a room filled with loving, caring, non-judgmental, and sincere people.”
-Emilee Mazur
The Emilee Connection, Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c) (3) established in March 2022, in loving memory of Emilee Mazur, a devoted Doctor of Pharmacy who cherished life, her family, her friends, and her dog, Duncan. Emilee had a gentle nature and a smile that lit up a room. She loved helping people and was compassionate, intelligent, athletic, and kind. When Emilee was 25 years old, she was diagnosed with anorexia nervosa—a serious, life-threatening, underdiagnosed, and stigmatized illness. She passed at the age of 35 after a lengthy battle with the disease which has a 20% mortality rate. Her last wish was to have her journey shared in the hope it would help others. Emilee’s journey is chronicled by her parents in the book Emilee-The Story of a Girl and Her Family Hijacked by Anorexia. The book includes some of Emilee’s poignant writings. The Emilee Connection, Inc. was formed to help wonderful people like Emilee and to help family members that are supporting a loved adult on their healing journey.
